Under Google PageRank, the importance of a page is judged by the number of pages linking to it as well as their importance.
Higher the citations to your web site from the rest - higher the PageRank.
Turn your blog(web site) to your OpenID - my previous post explains how to do that - and start commenting on other sites with your OpenID - which automatically links back to your web site.

Improve your Google PageRank with OpenID

why do you need openid for this? when you post a comment on a blog and submit a web site reference, it will create a link as well. openid in this case is just an unnecessary complication.
Seems today most sites add rel="nofollow" attributes to external links posted by users (whether OpenID or not) which prevents search engines from counting the link as a vote... and rightfully so, since the website or blog probably has no mutual connection to 95% of its visitors that post URLs and hence should not be vouching for the credibility of those sites. Therefore, no PageRank increase. This is at least the default for most blog templates I've seen, especially WordPress. In fact, your own Google Blogger template is doing it ;)
